Kitchen and Bathroom Design Institute – Quarterly Design Event

“The Perth chapter of the KBDI held its quarterly design event recently. Veejay’s Renovations was represented by Wendy Arnold, who completed  the KBDI’s Cert IV in Wet Area Design, in 2010. Members of the KBDI are encouraged to attend regular events in order to benefit from technical training, award winning bathroom and kitchen designs, product updates and presentations on the latest trends.

Wendy was inspired by an excellent presentation on colour forecasts for 2017 and beyond. We can already see these colours coming through on the flip side shows worldwide, and European design magazines. Wendy interprets these up and coming trends as :-

WHITES: Raw,tranquil , layers of white , with accents of stone, wood and foliage, reflecting a step away from technology and back to nature;

MONOTONES: concrete and shades of grey , for depth and definition, reflecting the industrial influence;

MUTED PRIMARY COLOURS: mixed muted primary’s against a neutral background, suggesting a shift from safe and minimalist  towards  bold and daring;

MIDDLE EASTERN: the most exciting of all , exotic mixes of colours , textures and patterns, tasells, layering….casual, almost chaotic , yet intricate to the of sophisticated!

So much to think about, selection of colours and finishes is an integral part of the process when renovating your kitchen or bathroom with the Veejay;s Team. Regardless of the latest trends , we will work with you to achieve a look that suits you , your lifestyle and your home”.
